I can definitely tell you that it's not a problem with a corrupt driver/install as this happens on ALL of my computers. It seems as though the program is crashing but the connection is kept online somehow. The odd thing is when I check my IP/DNS on a site like I'm usually still connected to VPN. I usually just reboot my computer to fix the issue. I don't have any of the other options like connect, disconnect, or settings etc). Sometimes when i right click the red tray bar program it doesn't even give me the popup menu to allow me to click quit or disconnect (when it does work, like you all i get is help and quit. I have been having the EXACT same problem for i don't know how long now (months, maybe a year? no idea). Make sure to follow the instructions on the page. Essentially, it seemed to boil down to a corruption in the software that was only able to be fixed buy both uninstalling PIA and the TAP driver before reinstalling the software. After a lot of emailing back and forth and speaking to two separate support people, my issue was resolved.
